Although the word "Celtic" has come to mean Irish or Scottish, in fact, the Celtic civilization was once spread all over Europe, and led to the great chivalric tradition of knights and nobility in what would become Spain.  In the 200's B.C., the Roman army fought the "Celtiberians" - Spanish celts!  The famous Roman sword, the Gladius, was called the "Spanish Sword".

In the Middle Ages, the regions of Leon, Caltilla, Navarre, Paralada, and other great kingdoms of Spain were a hub of honorable knighthood.
